Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”
Good men and women of the Lord make mistakes and fall down into sin sometimes. They get muddy and sometimes injured by the sin that has a snare laid for them by the world, the flesh, and the devil, (our enemies). When they fall however, it is not the end for them, because they love the Lord they fight and soon you see them standing up and walking with the Lord once more. The Lord is always there to help us up when we have fallen down. He is our ready friend to help us get up and not stay down. If we fall into sin our desire should be to get back up and not just lay there in it’s wallowing mud. The one’s that stay down are considered cast down and soon they become just like those that have never trusted in the Lord as their Savior. Sin has dominion over them and they are powerless to rise up on their feet and walk again with the Lord. They either decide that they enjoy the mud or they become too proud to call out to the Lord for His help but whatever the case such a one has made a choice to continue in there fallen state. It has been my experience that when I fall down I struggle to get back up and sometimes I fall right back down again but it is of a truth that being His child you reach out for His hand and He lifts you back to your feet. Praise God for His strength and love that surpasses and overcomes all my sin. To order us to place our feet on a firm and solid foundation and hold us up with His hand is of a great comfort. Those that belong to the Lord should not want to sin over and over again but when they do they have a way of escape from that sinful place of defeat. The Lord takes great delight over His children, that though they may fall, they continue to trust and soon the Lord puts their feet in the right places once more. If you have come to a place of falling into sin, call out to the One that can lift you up to solid ground, then start walking. Have a blessed day.
